Glass and ceramics firm Waterford Wedgwood has strengthened its US operations through the purchase of an Irish-based catalogue group. The luxury goods maker said at the beginning of November that it has bought Cash“s and Shannon direct marketing business from Fairways Investments for EUR 22.04 million. Cash“s and Shannon is a long-established, profitable mail order businesses, selling mainly gift products, with more than a million names and addresses on its American mailing list. Waterford said the business, based in Cork, would build on its own direct marketing operations, its branded US stores and shopping website. It added that eventually it would also mean the British shopper could select Waterford and Rosenthal products from the comfort of their armchairs.
