In the Mexican Packaging Association“s “2003 Stellar Container” Competition, no less than 27 Vitro glass containers won awards. A total of 102 containers were submitted in eight categories by various manufacturers. The key objective of the annual contest is to recognize creativity, innovation, variety of materials used, environmental efforts, as well as cost. The Mexican Packaging Association integrates a significant group of companies that manufacture containers and packaging products for end consumers in Mexico. Vitro submitted 29 glass containers which complied with the competition requirements of content protection and conservation, attractive design, product quality, cost, and recycling properties. The “2003 Stellar Container” award ceremony was held on June 2nd, 2003 in Mexico City, and the winners have the right to participate in the World Packaging Organization (WPO) Annual Award Contest. In 2002, 30 Vitro containers won awards from the association, and 3 of these received World Star awards from the WPO.
