Portuguese tableware producer Vista Alegre Atlantis is considering the sale of its Crisal and Cerisol units, it was reported on 3 May 2004. No financial details were available. The sale of the two companies could help reduce the company“s EUR 145 million (USD 173.7 million) debt. The company chairman, Bernardo Vasconcelos e Souza, said that the two firms were very profitable and generated significant cash-flow. Crisal makes a range of products including table and giftware. Crisal is based in Marinha Grande, in central Portugal. Cerisol, based in Gaia, northern Portugal, produces ceramic insulators.
