8 July 1999: German tableware and home accessories manufacturer Villeroy & Boch has reported an increase in sales revenue of just 0.4% to DM 621.2 million for the first five months of 1999. After three months, sales revenue was 3.3% higher than in the corresponding period of 1998. The turnover trend will be determined by exports in 1999. The bathroom and kitchen division saw sales revenue growth of 5.5% to DM 179.9 mililon in the first five months; tableware managed only 1.6% growth to DM 209.9 million. Tiles, the biggest division, suffered a decline of 4.3% to DM 231.4 million. At the AGM, shareholders approved share capital conversion measures, creating Euro denominated shares from 1 January 2000.
