Chu Lai Float Glass Joint Stock Co., the joint venture of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group, the Industry Development Joint Stock Co. and Mining Chemicals Co Ltd, will invest VND1.8 trillion (USD 106.5 million) in building three plants in the Chu Lai Economic Zone of central Quang Nam province. The new facilities include a sand selection plant with a daily capacity of 1,500 tons, a post-glass products plant with a daily capacity of 300 tons and a colour glass plant with a daily capacity of 400 tons. The plant, costing VND1.5 trillion and the largest of its kind in Vietnam so far, is set to operate in the fourth quarter of 2009, producing 700 tons of glass per day.
