Croatian glass manufacturer Vetropack-Straza in Hum Na Sutli, northern Croatia, a subsidiary of Swiss glass manufacturer Vetropack, posted a HRK 388 million revenue for 2001, compare to HRK 357 in 2000. Bottle sales were 535 million in 2001 compared to 460 million bottles in 2000.]Vetropack-Straza has invested EUR 18.5 million in equipment, including a glass furnace with a capacity of 320 tons of glass a day and a supporting production line. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) extended a EUR 12.5 million loan needed for the equipment. Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Slavko Linic officially opened the furnace and the production line on 24 May 2002.
