29 January 1998: Veteco, the window, curtain wall and structural glass trade show to be held at the Juan Carlos I Exhibition Centre in Madrid, Spain, from 6-9 May this year, has so far attracted 273 exhibitors, already a 6% improvement on the 1996 figure. A total of 22,000 square metres are being marketed by the organisers, 20% more than the previous edition. The show is being organised by Ifema, the Madrid Trade Fair, and is the only event of its kind in Spain. Veteco, together with the Spanish Lightweight Facade and Window Manufacturers Association, will, for the third time, be awarding its Veteco-Asefave prizes (totalling Ptas 300,000) for technological innovation and quality by architects and manufacturers in the field of design, aesthetics and adaptation for windows, lightweight facades or structural glass surrounds. Building or refurbishment work carried out during 1996 and 1997 may enter for the Best Window and Best Lightweight Facade Prize, while the Most Innovative Product Prize will acknowledge window products and components or lightweight facades and structural glass products, as well as other products used in the elaboration or supervision process, which were marketed during 1997 and which must be presented at Veteco “98. All pieces presented will be featured in an exhibition at the fair, and the awards ceremony will take place in the course of the four-day Madrid event.
