The Contemporary Glass Society (CGS) is pleased to announce the 13 glass artists which have been selected for an exciting showcase of bespoke glass for interiors. The exhibition, entitled “Living with Glass“, will be held by the Vessel Gallery, a store and studio gallery based in London. On show will be a range of interior products in the medium of glass, created in limited edition for exclusive sale. The theme of the showcase is new work by contemporary UK glass artists, based upon glass objects for interiors. The following glass artists were selected for the exhibition: Stuart Akroyd, Nour El Huda Awad, Denise Basso, Scott Benefield, Vanessa Cutler, Jane Dorner, Hanne Enemark, Frances Federer, Heather Gillespie, Anthony Harris, Kate Maestri, Cathyrn Shilling and Amanda J Simmons. The intent of the exhibition is to raise the profile, both nationally and internationally, of contemporary glass and the many applications and uses it has within modern interiors and living spaces. A total of 47 applications were received for this exhibition, and the show builds on Vessel Gallery“s outstanding clientele and design service, introducing the creative possibilities of contemporary glass as a unique art form for bespoke, contract design. The exhibition will run from 29 September to 31 October 2011 at Vessel Gallery, and will coincide with the CGS conference “Living with Glass“. The conference, from 15 – 16 October 2011, will be held at the recently refurbished De La Warr Pavilion at Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex.
