Vertex Litomysl, the only Czech producer of glass fibres and fabrics, is inviting its shareholders to purchase the stock at Kcs 2,024 per share, based on a decision to cancel public tradeability, made at a general meeting in late August 1999. The legal offer will be in force from 3 January to 2 March 2000. The German company Vetrotex, part of the Saint-Gobain concern, which controls over 99% of Vertex shares, has pushed through its proposal for cancelling the stock“s public tradeability. In 1998, Vertex had a net of Kcs 122 million from sales revenues of Kcs 2.84 billion. In the first nine months of last year the company“s gross earnings reached Kcs 292 million and sales revenues equalled.
