10 December 1998: Latvia“s Valmiera Glass Fiber plant plans to introduce new technologies that will allow it to speed up the production process. “It would allow us to save resources and time and, consequently, to reduce the cost price of the products,” said Janis Kikuts, company sales manager. He pointed out that Valmiera Glass Fiber had very flexible prices and a great variety of products as compared to similar companies all around the world. Kikuts said that this year the company had successfully sold its products to Poland at very profitable prices, but he refrained from making any forecasts as to the future sales. During the first nine months of this year Valmiera Glass Fiber generated 824,700 lats (about US$ 1.5 million) in profit from a turonver of 9,907,953 lats.
