The owner of Belgian crystal maker Val Saint-Lambert, Brussels businesswoman Sylvie Henquin, has acquired the Val Saint-Lambert (VSL) trademark for EUR 700,000 (USD 848,330), it was reported on 10 October 2005. The VSL trademark was held by the authorities of the southern Belgian region of Wallonia, the previous owner of Val Saint-Lambert. According to Henquin, who bought the company in 2003, the transaction was necessary for the Val Saint-Lambert“s market debut in November 2005. The Wallonia authority retains the right to buy back the trademark, if it goes on sale. Val Saint-Lambert hopes to raise EUR 2.5 million (USD 3.03 million) from a possible market debut in November 2005, it was reported on 5 September 2005. The funds will be used to open new stores in Europe, New York, Tokyo and Dubai.
