Spanish building materials manufacturer Uralita posted net profit for the period January to September 2008 of EUR 58 million, 18% less than in the same period of 2007 due to lower construction activity and the decline in prices in some countries. The accounts submitted by the company to the Spanish stockmarket regulator (CNMV) show a decline in gross operating result (EBITDA) of 26%, to EUR 133.3 million euros. Despite the decline of activity in the construction sector, income fell just 4%, to EUR 792.4 million, partly thanks to strong performance in sales of insulation on foreign markets.
