In February, production of soda ash rose by 8.3% compared to February of 2001, to 54,140 tons (100% potash free), the Cherkasy State Scientific and Research Institute of technical and economical information in the chemical industry informed Ukrainian News at the end of March. In February, the Crimean soda plant increased volumes of soda ash production by 3.9% to 40,000 tons, the Lysychanska soda increased production of soda ash by 23% to 14.,140 tons. As reported earlier, in January soda ash production rose by 4.5% compared to January of 2001, to 62,200 tons. In the January-February period, soda ash output increased by 6.3% to 116,360 tons compared to the corresponding period of 2001. In 2001, production of soda ash rose by 13% compared to 2000, to 649,900 tons. In 2000, production of soda ash rose by 26.3% compared to 1999, to 575.4 thousand tons (100% potash free).
