In November 2002, production of soda ash was down by 8% or 5,000 tons, compared to November 2001, to 56,000 tons (100% without potash), according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Committee. In November 2002, production at the Crimean soda plant reduced soda ash was down 11% to 42,000 tons, while Lisichanskaya soda remained steady at 14,000 tons. In October 2002 production of soda ash rose by 7% compared with October 2001, to 52,500 tons. In the January-November 2002 period, soda ash production went up by 4% or 25,200 tons on the same period in 2001, to 619,100 tons. In 2001, production of soda ash was up by 13% on the figure for 2000, to 649,900 tons.
