In November 2005, Ukrainian soda ash exports rose by 42.6% or 16,295 tons compared to November 2004, to 54,506 tons, according to figures from the State Statistics Committee; revenues from exports rose by 75% or USD 3.490 million to USD 8.145 million. Compared to October 2005, soda ash exports in November 2005 were 32.6% higher, equivalent to 13,386 tons. Russia was the main importer of Ukrainian soda ash in November 2005 with 35.8% of total exports by volume. In January-November 2005, Ukrainian soda ash exports rose by 35.5% compared with the same period of 2004, to 463,262 tons with a sale value of USD 66.110 million (342,012 tons for USD 39.213 million in January-November 2004). In November 2005, production of soda ash rose by 22% year-on-year, to 83,300 tons. In the January-November 2005 period, production of soda ash rose by 22% compared with the same period of 2004, to 858,800 tons. In 2004, soda ash exports rose by 6.8% compared with the 2003, to 378,035 tons worth USD 43.487 million (354,112 tons for USD 34.081 million in 2003). The Crimean soda plant (Krasnoperekopsk, Crimea) is the only producer of the exported soda (A brand).
