In January-June 2002 the enterprises of glass industry, which form part of the state-owned Ukrstroymaterialy corporation, finished with losses of UAH 1.839 million. In January-June of 2001, corresponding indicators can not be compared because of the writing off the state“s debts of 2001. The enterprises of glass industry are the enterprises, which produce structural glass, polished glass, glass containers and crockery. The major glass enterprises are the Proletary plant (Lisichansk), the Lisichansk glass factory, the Kiev plant of glass package, the Zaporozhie welding flux and glass plant. As reported previously, 228 enterprises of ceramics industry, glass industry, sanitary engineering industry, and industry of polymer and non-metallic goods form part of the Ukrstroymaterialy corporation. 66 of these enterprises are state-owned, 19 are partially state-owned, while 143 are privately owned. The Ukrstroymaterialy corporation is one of the major producers of building materials in Ukraine.
