Tyrone Crystal Giftware of Northern Ireland, which designs, manufactures and supplies contemporary and traditional glassware under the Tyrone Crystal brand, is to invest GBP 1 million for growth. The investment project, which is expected to generate 10 new jobs, will see the company increasingly focus its efforts on new product design as well as developing and implementing a sales and marketing strategy to help the company grow in new and existing export markets. Nigel Blackburn of Tyrone Crystal Giftware said that since he and Peter Maginnis acquired the company at the head of a consortium of investors in 2006, the firm had worked to improve fundamental process, management and marketing activities which would support the new project. Mr. Blackburn said the aim now is to implement a strategy that would enable the firm to significantly increase turnover and secure additional sales. Invest Northern Ireland has offered GBP 140,700 in financial support towards the total investment costs of GBP 1.19 million.
