Austrian bonded grinding, cutting-off, sawing and drilling tools maker Tyrolit, part of the Swarovski group, signed an agreement with Tokyo-based A.L.M.T. Corporation aimed at facilitating the marketing strategies of the both companies, Tyrolit said at the beginning of May 2002. Tyrolit will use A.L.M.T.“s distribution channels throughout Japan. The Japanese company uses the conventional equipment produced by Tyrolit to integrate it in high-tech grinding tools. The main target group of the cooperation in Japan will be the automotive industry and attempts will be made to service clients in the aircraft industry, the turbines manufacturing and the machine building industry. On its part, A.L.M.T. will use Tyrolits“s marketing channels in Europe to increase its market share, mainly in the fields of electronics and semiconductor industries. In 2001, Tyrolit generated EUR 465 million from sales of grinding tools worldwide.
