Turkey intends to put a quota on the glass products that will be imported from Iran upon the application of glassware manufacturer Pasabahce. The written notice of the Foreign Trade Undersecretariat regarding protectionary measures and inspection in import was published in the Official Gazette on 9 May. The Foreign Trade Undersecretariat which started to examine imports from Iran, resulted its investigation and concluded that the import from Iran increased every year, thus having a detrimental effect on domestic producers. The Undersecretariat decided to put a quota to Iran for three years. The import of the glass products has been determined to be 5,8 million products in 2002, 6,22 million in 2003 and 6,27 million in 2004.
