The Austrian province of Burgenland announced it would extend until 5 November 2004 the deadline on its offer for a 17.5% subsidy for the construction of a EUR 180 million (USD 228.4 million) production facility by Swiss glass processing company Troesch. The government of the province in eastern Austria is willing to subsidise the construction of a Euroglas facility in Nickelsdorf, but has already twice extended the offer deadline, because Troesch had not reached a decision. Mosonmagyarovar, in western Hungary, is seen as an alternative location for the new Euroglas facility because of its labour cost advantages.
