Tremco, Inc. has formed the Fire Protection Systems (FPS) Group to market and service its TREMstop branded line of passive fire control products in North America. Headquartered in Beachwood, OH, Tremco is a subsidiary of RPM Inc. Tremco has been selling fire-stop products for more than 20 years. It formed the FPS Group in Aug 2002 to aggressively pursue the US$ 150 million market segment. The new group will be located at the RPM campus in Medina, Ohio, US, and operate within Tremco“s Sealants/Weatherproofing Division. It is the only sealant company in the passive fire control business. Named to head the group, as fire-stop business unit manager for North America, is Steven M Tyler. The TREMstop branded line of fire-stop products include acrylic and silicone sealants, putties, intumescent devices and fire prevention mortar. The fire-stop systems are designed for metal and plastic pipe, construction and head-of-wall joints, conduit, cables and cable trays. Tremco sells its sealants and glazing products and roofing systems to customers primarily in building, construction and building maintenance markets.
