Trainor Glass Co., one of the three largest glazing contractors in the United States, has become the latest subscriber to the MyGlassClass.com on-line training program, the National Glass Association (NGA) announced 8 January 2007. Trainor Glass, headquartered in Alsip, Illinois, will send more than 100 field, plant and office persons through the program beginning in January 2007. “Subscribing to MyGlassClass.com makes it easy and convenient for us to provide exemplary training to our employees, which is a major part of our mission,” said Bob Trainor, Jr., CEO/President of Trainor Glass Co. and a member of the NGA board of directors. “This type of on-line training allows us to remain highly productive and fully staffed while still providing our employees with the training they need”. MyGlassClass.com was launched in June 2006 and offers dozens of courses specifically designed for both the auto and flat glass industry, ranging from safety instruction to professional development to industry certification. It was developed in partnership with leaders in the glass industry and will be continually updated and enhanced to reflect industry needs, with more than 100 course offerings planned for the first year. “Our company goal is that each of our employees undergoes training for at least 40 hours per year, which can seem somewhat daunting. MyGlassClass.com provides the best training out there in a flexible and cost-effective format to get us to that goal”, said John Boers, Vice President of Training for Trainor Glass Co. “Trainor Glass is an industry leader in the area of training and has always demonstrated a strong commitment to continuous learning,” said Phil James, NGA President and CEO. “To have a company of this caliber embrace MyGlassClass.com is excellent”.
