DuPont Apollo has completed its 8.7 megawatt (MW) ground-mounted L Solar 1 photovoltaic park in Thailand, in the Prachin Buri Province, 180 kilometres from Bangkok. The park covers around 344,000 sq.m. and uses DuPont Apollo’s thin film photovoltaic modules.
DuPont Apollo has announced the completion of its 8.7 megawatt (MW) ground-mounted L Solar 1 photovoltaic park in Thailand, in collaboration with Thai conglomerate Loxley Plc.
Located in the Prachin Buri Province, 180 kilometres from Bangkok, the park covers around 344,000 sq.m. and uses DuPont Apollo’s thin film photovoltaic modules.
The plant, which will be connected to the gird in the fourth quarter of the year, is expected to generate 12 million kilowatt hours of energy annually.
The energy will reportedly be supplied top the grid via Provincial Electricity Authority of Thailand (PEA), under Thailand’s current Very Small Power Producer (VSPP) added tariff scheme.
“With our thin film PV technology uniquely suited for sunbelt countries, we hope the success of this project will act as a catalyst for further PV developments in Thailand,” commented David Chu, chief executive officer of DuPont Apollo.
According to a statement released, the L Solar 1 project also includes an education centre located at the solar farm, open to external visitors interested in learning about the technology.
