India“s Tata Chemicals posted a profit of INR 1,576.5 million (USD 35.12 million) for the 2Q 2006 ended 30 September, an increase of 24.5% from the 2Q 2005, the company said. The chemical, fertilizer and food additives manufacturer said it enjoyed healthy sales volumes across its product offerings. Its gross income increased to INR 11,942 million, from INR 10,322 million on the year. Tata estimates that it boosted its share of India“s soda ash market to 32.6% for the last six months, from 31.3% for the same period 2005. The company“s product range includes soda ash, sodium bicarbonate, salt, caustic soda and urea.
