KDCL Minerals (T) Limited has announced that it intends to build a soda ash plant be located at Lake Natron in northern Tanzania, to produce an estimated 150,000 tonnes using the brine carbonation process, and a caustic soda production with a capacity of 50,000 tonnes per annum. Raw material will come from the soda ash deposits in Lake Natron and limestone from Tanga. Soda ash is used in the processing and chemical industries in Tanzania and neighbouring countries and has extensive application in industries, households and agriculture, including optic and fiber glass. KDCL Minerals“ core business is prospecting and exploration of all types of minerals including precious and semi-precious gemstones. KDCL directors have expertise in geology, civil engineering, cement industry and management.
