The Austrian glass company Stoelzle-Oberglas AG increased its turnover by 6% to Sch 1.6 billion in 1996. This growth can be attributed to the acquisition of eastern German company Lausitzer Glaswerke Weisswasser, now known as Stoelzle-Oberglas Lausitz GmbH, which produces glasses for the catering industry and the consumer market. With 120 employees, turnover at the acquired company was DM 9 million last year. This should increase by 80% to DM 16 million in the current year. Stoelzle-Oberglas Lausitz should then be able to contribute profits.
