Italian Stevanato Group is the only company in Italy among the finalists in the running for the Best new product award during the European Outsourcing Awards 2009. The awards will take place in Madrid 14 October, during the Convention on Pharmaceutical Ingredients. World leader for the production of pharmaceutical glass containers, it proposes itself with the innovative product EZ- fillTM vials and cartridges. The panel declared its submission as one of the brightest of the category, confirming its position of leadership in the Stevanato Group sector; it made product innovation one of its fundamental features with research investments and more than 10% of its turnover that it is expected to get to the threshold of EUR 159 million. EZ-fillTM vials and cartridges can be considered as an enlarging of the range of EZ-fillTM sterile products and will guarantee the supply of a ready-to- use, clean, sterile, apyrogen glass container to pharmaceutical companies. EZ-fillTM vials and cartridges will propose a remarkable added value for the pharmaceutical companies, states Sergio Stevanato, CEO of Stevanato Group. They will then be able to outsource the first part of the manufacturing process, reducing costs and concentrating their resources on research, which is their core business. The company that will show excellence in research and development more than all the other finalists, launching new products in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sector, offering remarkable benefits from the use of its products by comparison with the already present compatible therapies and products, will be given the Award. Being among the finalists of this important European Award, adds Stevanato, is a further confirmation for us; giving research and development more importance has been a winning choice. Our firm not only produces glass containers for pharmaceutical industries, but also machinery and technologies for their production. This gives us the possibility to constantly improve the performance of our productive offer, introducing ongoing technical innovations. It is innovation that brought the company to be recognized as the undisputed world leader and that let it make its way to internationalization; It now exports 70% of its turnover and has large orders from the main pharmaceutical groups in its own portfolio. Its growth is shown in the increasing number of branches worldwide, the latest one in Monterrey, Mexico, catering to the American pharmaceutical market.
