Steinemann Technology AG, St. Gallen/Switzerland, is progressively implementing the announced strategic expansion of its market position in China and the other markets in Asia. For example, the production facility of Steinemann (Shanghai) Machinery Co., Ltd. in Shanghai was recently certified to ISO 9001 in the framework of comprehensive quality management – meaning that it consistently meets Western quality standards. Steinemann Technology will once again be taking this year“s China Print (Beijing, 12-16 May) as an opportunity to emphasise its all-round competence in matters of high-end print finishing to the visitors to the event, most of whom come from the region. The ultra-modern production facility of Steinemann (Shanghai) Machinery Co., Ltd. manufactures complete laminating and belt sanding machines for the entire Asian market. In addition, sanding belts are made up there and exported around the globe. High priority was given to supplier management from the outset. All bought-in parts are thoroughly tested by trained staff using the latest measuring and test equipment. In preparation for first-time certification, the company devoted the preceding months to further optimising all its processes in production, logistics and the organisation as a whole, thus fulfilling the high Swiss standards of Steinemann. Jonathan Xiao, General Manager of Steinemann (Shanghai) Machinery Co., Ltd., said Demands on quality are increasing all the time on Asia“s markets, including those on production technologies and processes. Our customers can rest assured that every single machine we produce deserves the globally respected seal of Swiss quality without reservation. So, the certification of our facility to ISO 9001 gives us a decisive competitive advantage throughout Asia. The Steinemann exhibition stand in Hall W1 (Stand 088) at China Print 2009 will, among other things, be celebrating the premire of a LOTUS SF-S laminating machine with a sheet format of 74 x 104. This short version of the standard LOTUS machine was developed particularly for printshops that have only little floor space and are looking for a low-cost version of this laminating machine. Apart from that, this LOTUS version is equally characterised by the familiar high productivity of up to 80 m/min in combination with low adhesive and energy consumption, as well as perfect surfaces. The LOTUS SF at China Print will laminate print products live using a variety of film types, including polyester, hologram, OPP, acetate and PE. For the demonstrations, the company will be partnered by Henkel with polyurethane adhesives and Mitsa with Clarifoil films. The Steinemann Technology stand will additionally be presenting a host of samples produced using machines made by the company. These samples will also include folding boxes which, thanks to an innovative process, can now be finished particularly economically with UV varnishes and subsequently glued – an option made possible by combining the COLIBRI 104 UV varnishing system from Steinemann Technology with Bobst OPENAIR plasma technology. Asia“s markets hold enormous growth potential for Steinemann Technology. China alone is today the world“s third-largest printing market. Against this backdrop, we have continuously expanded our presence and our proximity to the market in recent years in the framework of our broad-based commitment in the entire region – with certification of our facility to ISO 9001 being another important step in the process. Our presentation at China Print 2009 will once again underline our comprehensive experience in matters of high-end print finishing and show our customers how they can ideally meet the demands of their clients with the help of the latest technologies, says Jrg Spittler, Vice President of Steinemann Technology AG and Head of the Graphic Division.
