Trade Promotion Services Ltd, organisers of the Spring Fair Birmingham, has announced an exciting series of initiatives for this year. The new services are aimed at helping both visitors and exhibitors to the Spring Fair Birmingham 2000 (6-10 February 2000) make the most of their participation in the event. The electronic catalogue (known as The Black Book) will be available for the first time on CD-ROM. The fully interactive CD will allow buyers to familiarize themselves with the products and companies that will exhibit at the fair – weeks in advance of the event – as well as providing an invaluable source of suppliers for consultation throughout the rest of the year. With the details of the 4,500 exhibitors at the Spring Fair Birmingham, previously only available on two hard discs, Chris Parker, marketing director at TPS, believes the new CD-ROM is a real step forward for buyers. “The CD-ROM is more compact, enabling buyers to access the information they need quickly and easily and in advance of the fair.” Meanwhile, the Exhibitor Manual will, for the first time, be available on disc as well as in its more traditional hard copy format. Welcoming the new development, operations director Kerr Sprott said: “The Exhibitor Manual contains over 100 pages of essential information and numerous forms – covering everything from health and safety, to stand facility orders. The new on screen format will make it so much easier for exhibitors to handle their administration.” Trade Promotion Services has also announced further developments on its web-site – with an individual web-site now established for each of its brands – including the Spring Fair Birmingham (www.springfair.com) and the Autumn Fair Birmingham (www.autumnfair.com). Buyers will also be able to pre-register on the new individually branded web-sites. As Chris Parker, explained: “Our aim is to simplify and improve communications with both our customers and visitors from around the world. A dedicated web-site for the Spring Fair Birmingham – means site visitors can find details specifically about next February“s event much more easily – whilst pre-registration couldn“t be easier now.” Improved communication and information facilities from TPS will be matched at the National Exhibition Centre with better accommodation facilities – following a programme of new hotel building that will open in time for Spring Fair Birmingham 2000.
