1 October 1998: US-based Southwall Technologies Inc., a company that designs and produces thin-film coatings that selectively absorb, reflect or transmit certain types of electromagnetic radiation, said it is expanding its stock repurchase programme to acquire up to 10% of its common stock. The company currenly has about 7.6 million shares of outstanding common stock, after recent buybacks of about 141,000 shares. “The company“s further repurchase of its common stock is being done because we believe these shares continue to have greater value than our purchase price of such shares,” President and Chief Executive Thomas Hood said in a statement.
