Ireland“s South Wharf, formerly known as Ardagh Glass, reported on 28 September 2004 a lower 1H 2004 pretax loss of EUR 1.2 million compared to EUR 2.2 million for the year-ago period. The glass container manufacturer said turnover for the retained entities was EUR 0.5 million in the six months ended 30 June 2004, against EUR 1.8 million a year ago, reflecting the run down of stocks produced by Irish Glass. South Wharf also said it is still awaiting a decision regarding its legal action against Dublin Port Company over the right to obtain a change of use for its warehousing facilities at Ringsend.
