The Bulgarian State Commission on Securities and Stock Exchanges removed Bulgarian soda ash producer Solvay-Sodi from the public register on 22 November 2001. The price at which Solvay-Sodi“s shares were traded on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange-Sofia was among those forming the official stock index SOFIX. The management of the exchange was to decide whether to replace Solvay Sodi with another company. Solvay Sodi is majority owned (91.6%) by Solvay Sisecam. Vienna-registered Solvay Sisecam is a consortium of the Belgian chemicals and drugs group Solvay, Turkey“s glass group Sisecam and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
