Solutia Inc., a US-based manufacturer of performance films for laminated safety glass and aftermarket applications, announced that it would increase the prices of several of its Therminol heat transfer fluids, effective on 15June 2000. This increase, in the 5% range, will be applied to Therminol 55, 66, 75, D12, LT, and VP-1 heat transfer fluids. At the same time, Solutia is eliminating per gallon and per pound pricing for all Therminol products and is converting to per drum pricing. “This is the first price increase in more than two years, said Dale Kline, worldwide business manager, heat transfer fluids. “The increase is necessary to cover escalating costs in a number of areas including that of manufacturing and raw materials and to support the investments required to meet growing market demand worldwide.” Heat transfer fluids are used in many industries in closed systems to transfer heat from a heat source to be used in a manufacturing process.
