Chemical company Solutia Inc. said it would raise prices on several resins, effective 1 May 2000, because of rising production and shipping costs. Solutia said it would raise prices on all grades of Resimene and Maprenal high solids, hexamethoxymethyl, melamine and urea resins by 4 cents per pound. Mixed ether melamine resins prices will be increased by 5 cents per pound. “The costs to produce and ship Resimene and Maprenal resins continue to escalate, necessitating these increases,” John Moore, a resins and additives business director for Solutia, said in a statement.
