US applied chemistry company Solutia, Inc. announced at the end of January that Monika Riese-Martin was to join the company on 11 February 2002, as vice president and general manager of the Resins & Additives and Industrial Products business platforms. Her appointment was to be submitted to Solutia“s board of directors for approval at its next meeting on 27 February 2002. Riese-Martin was most recently vice president/general manager of the Aqualon Division for Hercules. While with Hercules, Riese-Martin held various senior commercial positions in Dusseldorf, Germany; Brussels, Belgium; and for the past five years, at Hercules“ world headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware. Prior to Hercules, Riese-Martin held various sales and marketing positions for Henkel, a consumer products and chemical company. Riese-Martin holds a degree in Macroeconomics from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany.
