11 February 1999: Solutia is to form a coating resins venture with GOM Industries called Solutia GOM India Coatings Materials, a recent press report has said. The venture should commence operations by the end of the first quarter 1999. GOM produces phenolic, polyamide, alkyd, amino and other resins for the coatings industry. The report also said that Indian demand for higher-quality coating materials is increasing.
