Member companies of the Slovak Glass Industry Association (ZSP) reported a 4.8% increase in sales of their goods and services to SKK 13.635 billion in 2006. The figure is equivalent to 0.8% of the total sales of Slovak industry. Exports rose 6.1% year-on-year to SKK 10.078 billion. Sales from industrial activities increased 5.3% year-on-year to SKK 13.431 billion. ZSP companies reported a profit of SKK 1.234 billion, which represents a drop of 0 7% from a year ago, ZSP secretary general Jan Mudry said. Total revenues of glass industry companies increased by 4.1% year-on-year to SKK 15.998 billion on a 4.5% rise in costs to SKK 14.764 billion. ZSP companies reported a 3.5% increase in added value to SKK 4.774 billion in 2006. The volume of capital investments by glass industry companies reached SKK 1.623 billion in 2006. ZSP companies employed 4,916 people on average, down 3.2% year-on-year. The average monthly salary was SKK 21,385 in 2006. In 2005 it was SKK 19,768.
