The Sklopisek Strelec-Eximos (SSE) company exploiting and selling glass and foundry sand expects its revenues to rise by some 14% to Kcs 400 million, while its gross profit should reach Kcs 40 million this year, according to director Ludvik Jan Rys. The company expects these rising figures despite a forecast drop in sand volumes by three pct to some 700,000 tons. “We have concentrated on producing more expensive high-quality sands, the demand for which has been rising,” said Rys. Last year SSE posted a net profit of Kcs 8 million. Some 91% of the company“s production is to be sold on the Czech market and its biggest consumer is the Glaverbel Czech company. About 4% of the company“s production is earmarked for Slovakia. The company“s major shareholder is Ficarex with 65% and the remaining part is owned by Quarzwerke of Germany. SSE has share capital of Kcs 121 million and employs 140 people.
