9 April 1998: After having been accused of being “blackmailed” by a local television station, Regina Razlova, former actress and current board chairwoman of the Czech Republic“s Skloexport, denied the accusations, saying that she has not been blackmailed by anybody. The television programme reportedly said that she was blackmailed in connection with the case of a police officer, who is suspected of having committed a crime. “The accused officer has never demanded anything from me and has never blackmailed me,” Razlova said. The programme reported that the officer had been accused of abuse of public office and blackmail for allegedly extracting Kcs 250,000 from an entrepreneur, who is said to be former actress Regina Razlova, and whose case he promised to stop, the station announced. Razlova, who filed a complaint against the officer, is suspected of having diverted Skloexport“s assets, causing millions of crowns to be lost. The officer has been taken into custody, the television said, and was dismissed from the police recently, after having been in the force for 26 years.
