Glassmaker Sklo Bohemia Svetla nad Sazavou plans to reach sales of roughly Kcs 1.150 billion this year, around 16% more than in 1999 when it reached Kcs 990 million, according to preliminary results, the company“s CEO Oldrich Karas said. “The company executives expect profit to reach between Kcs 20-25 million this year,” Karas said. In 1999, the company ended up with a roughly Kcs 5 million profit. In 1998, it suffered a Kcs 24.779 million loss. The planned share of exports should be around 82%, 5% more year-on-year, and will target mainly US, Great Britain, Spain, Japan and Italy. Sklo Bohemia produces around 40% of lead crystal in the Czech Republic. This year, the company plans to triple production development investments to around Kcs 220 million. Sklo Bohemia“s share capital amounts to Kcs 549.958 million. The company was set up in 1994 and has a 1,550 staff. Bohemia Crystalex Trading a.s. and The Quartemanina Invest have a combined 51.12-% stake, while B.V. fund owns 3.15%.
