A Kcs 50 million investment in modernization of production technology will enable Sklo Bohemia glassworks to increase revenues by 8%, according to production director Pavel Janak. The new production line“s capacity is up to 1,300 crystal vases per shift. It is operated by 4 staff, works in three shifts and replaces the work of 20 employees, technical director Damir Dordevic said. However, hand-made production of the same products has been maintained because of customer demand, said Dordevic. Sklo Bohemia was granted a financial subsidy by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the form of a Kcs 4.8 million grant for development and export of a new product. The company invests Kcs 80-100 million yearly into modernization of production technology and this year it expects revenues worth some Kcs 950 million. The glassworks produces tens of thousands of kinds of non-decorative glassware. Lead crystal products account for 85% of revenues, soda potash glass products for the rest.
