3 September 1998: The board of directors of the Czech Republic“s Sklarny Kavalier glassworks removed three of the four top managers of the firm from their posts, according to recent reports. The interim CEO and financial manager, Jaroslav Krajc, the personnel manager Jindra Simova and the production manager Jan Balling are the three managers removed with an immediate effect, the board chairman, Radovan Kvet, told the press recently. Lumir Galwas was appointed new CEO, Vlastimil Bazant is the new financial manager, and Petr Sibrava is personnel manager. A new production manager will be appointed within the next several weeks, said Kvet. He explained that “the managers were removed because of their insufficient identification with shareholders“ commercial, structural and investment intentions”.
