Czech glassworks Sklarny Bratri Jilkove headquartered in Kamenicky Senov, northern Bohemia has filed for bankruptcy. The Regional Court in Usti nad Labem appointed Czech company Prof – Konkursni Spravce to administer the bankruptcy procedure. Sklarny Bratri Jilkove was specialised in painted glass and ground glass production. The company exported most of its output. Sklarny Bratri Jilkove had been in difficulty for a long time, Jan Zednicek from Prof – Konkursni Spravce said. Unable to pay either employees“ salaries or suppliers, the glassworks ceased production in the summer of 2005. Prof – Konkursni Spravce will try to find an investor for the company. The new owner will be expected to take over the glass maker“s manufacturing activities and to take on the company“s 150-strong staff. Some employees have already left. One hundred and forty-two members of the workforce received their salaries for June and July 2005 from the Ceska Lipa district employment office.
