A tender for the privatization of Yugoslav glassmaker Srpska Fabrika Stakla (SFS) in the town of Paracin is expected to be opened in the first quarter of 2002. SFS, whose employees total 3,700, already held talks on its future privatization with possible buyers from Germany, Greece and Italy in December 2001, SFS CEO Slobodan Baletic said on 13 January. SFS posted an output of 60,000 tons of packing and commercial glass, worth Euro 25.2 million in 2001. Foreign investors have shown interest in another local company, the confectioner Ravanica in the town of Cuprija, Pomoravlje Region Governor Milorad Jovanovic said.
