Sensor Wireless Inc., announced 13 June 2007 that it is joining forces with Parsec Automation Corp. of California, USA, to install and evaluate the integration of technologies to form a beta solution used to identify production performance efficiency and quality improvement in the beverage filling industry. Agent QC technology from Sensor Wireless is used by Fortune 500 companies in over 10 countries to identify handling and equipment calibration problems leading to poor quality and waste. Agent QC uses a sensor platform developed by Sensor Wireless which is inserted in an acrylic container with the same characteristics as the brand it is monitoring. The sensors are placed in line with the real product and transmit data to a handheld or laptop computer for instant correction of velocity changes which can be related to glass failure or line performance. Parsec develops software products that assist clients in rapidly improving the productivity of their manufacturing operations. Parsec“s manufacturing productivity management application suite enables Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and Operational Excellence efforts for companies in many industries. By maximizing the net return on existing assets, without requiring infrastructure change or production disruption, TrakSYS(TM) creates measurable ROI, typically in less than four months. The TrakSYS(TM) suite leverages service oriented architecture (SOA), and is built on Microsoft“s .Net platform with SQL Server 2005 as its database engine. “The combination of Agent QC(TM) and TrakSYS(TM) will enable company managers to identify problems in line, improve performance, improve quality, track history of quality, and reduce and manage waste due to glass fracture and operational failure. Customers can track ROI on a daily ongoing basis as it relates to glass handling and line performance. The solution will provide recurring benefits to our customers”, said Wayd McNally, President and CEO, Sensor Wireless Inc. “By collaborating with Sensor Wireless Inc., our customers have a complete and powerful solution to increase production performance efficiency and improve quality”, said John Tullie, VP North American Sales, Parsec Automation Corp. “In combining our real-time performance management and enterprise manufacturing intelligence data and reporting capabilities with Sensor Wireless Inc.“s sensor monitoring capabilities to support customer processes, the result is better measurement and comparison of the operation with other companies, within and outside of the beverage industry. This is a major competitive advantage for our customers”. A brewing facility and prominent co-packer in New Brunswick, Canada has agreed to act as the initial beta site for the deployment and evaluation of the solution. JMP Engineering of Ontario, Canada, a Certified Implementation Partner for Parsec, will lead the installation. Sensor Wireless is a private corporation headquartered in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. It is the world-leader in Active Wireless Sensor Technology(TM) (AWS(TM)) and provider of sensor technologies used to reduce waste in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and transportation industries. Parsec Automation Corp. (Parsec) is the developer of TrakSYS(TM), the leading real-time performance management and enterprise manufacturing intelligence software.
