German glass products maker Schott AG said 5 March 2009 it expects an annual decrease in its earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) for the current fiscal 2008/09, ending 30 September 2009. Precise figures were not given. EBIT in fiscal 2007/08 stood at EUR 289 million (USD 363.6 million). Revenue is seen to be on a par with the previous fiscal year“s figure of EUR 2.23 billion. The company hopes to beat the crisis thanks to its broad product line and its presence in many regions, CEO Udo Ungeheuer explained.
