17 June 1999: Philippines-based food, beverage and packaging company San Miguel Corp. has denied reports that it is planning to sell its shareholding in Coca-Cola Amatil. “While SMC continues to receive offers, it sees significant long term value in CCA and has no intention of selling its shareholdings at this time,” SMC said in a statement to the Philippines Stock Exchange. CCA said SMC currently holds 21.5% of its issued shares.
