San Miguel Brewery Hong Kong Ltd.“s first half profit attributable to shareholders rose 30% to HK$ 35.037 million from HK$ 26.950 million the year before. Operating profit increased 14% from a year earlier, according to the Hong Kong subsidiary of the Philippines“ food and beverage conglomerate San Miguel Corporation (SMC). The company“s market share improved to 30.6% from 29% early this year, the company said in a statement. SMBHK“s board of directors approved a second interim dividend of HK$ 0.04 per share, up from HK$ 0.03 last year. SMBHK said it has implemented a number of initiatives to explore further opportunities in the Hong Kong and South China markets. After the successful launch of San Miguel Light in the Philippines, the brand was introduced this year in Hong Kong and in Guangzhou where it was met with favourable consumer acceptance, the company said.
