Due mainly to customized services and management policies, Samsung Corning of Korea moved up as the world“s biggest STN LCD glass provider in the world market. The domestic company now holds over 40% control of the world market, up by approximately 15% from the 25% of 1998. Samsung Corning said it induced a one day system which provided swift after-services when problems occurred, and provided customized products to its clients, which include Epson, Casio and Hitachi. Of the 23 Japanese liquid crystal display manufacturers, Samsung Corning has business ties with 22, due mainly to its efforts to provide better services to its customers. “We plan to increase our market share to 50% by the year 2003,” stated a Samsung Corning official.
