India“s Samcor Glass, a joint venture of Samtel group and Samsung-Corning, said it will invest Rs 520 crores in two tranches over the next two years in manufacturing coloured glass and announced commissioning of its new facility in Rajasthan. In the first phase, the company will manufacture glass funnels for colour picture tubes and upgrade to glass panels by 2002, while the second phase will see an additional facility being put up, according to Mr. Satish Kaura, chairman and managing director, Samtel group.
